Sydney
In 2013, Sydney embarked on an adventure to India, completely unaware that this journey would change his life forever. While exploring the vibrant streets and rich culture, he impulsively bought an Indian wedding suit as a souvenir. Little did he know, this small purchase would foreshadow a beautiful chapter in his life.
Our Story
Our paths crossed and we quickly bonded over our shared love for food and funny travel stories. We talked about Trishnika’s encounter with puffins in the Faroe Islands and soon after Sydney would call her his “pretty puffin”.
Our relationship grew over countless dates, from museum visits—where Sydney enjoyed the Rijksmuseum a bit more than Trishnika, to our mutual indifference towards the Moco Museum.
Food quickly became a delightful cornerstone of our relationship, especially with Trishnika’s unstoppable sweet tooth. Sydney often finds himself playfully restraining her from indulging in desserts at every turn.
Sometimes we are like night and day, literally because Sydney prefers the sunlight, while Trishnika prefers the coolness of the shade. Yet, our shared love for humor and storytelling is the glue that binds us together.
Trishnika
Trishnika’s journey to the Netherlands was driven by her passion for health science, despite having little familiarity with Dutch cuisine. Moving to Groningen presented a thrilling opportunity, and with an open heart and mind, she embraced the new adventure.

A Hindu wedding is a beautiful and sacred ceremony, rich in traditions and rituals. One of the central elements is the Pheras, where the couple circles the sacred fire seven times, symbolizing their vows to support and cherish each other through life’s journey. Each round, or Phera, signifies a promise for a fulfilling married life, such as nourishment, strength, prosperity, love, and respect. The Pheras bind the couple in a lifelong commitment, witnessed by family, friends, and the divine.
P.S: Please refrain from wearing black, as it is considered an inauspicious color
